If you were to ask a pet stroller owner why they would purchase such a thing for their dog, you would see that the reasons are actually very legitimate. If you are a dog lover yourself, maybe you could picture yourself being in the pet owners' shoes who find themsleves in one or more of these types of situations:
Reason #1) You Have a Senior Pet - Your pet has always loved going on walks and still wants to go with you, even though she is in the twilight of her life. But now that she's a senior dog, either she can't keep up with you or can't go very far without tiring out. Carrying your dog long distances isn't really very realistic - especially if she weighs over 10 or 15 pounds. You love taking her with you, but what do you do?
AHA! That dog stroller doesn't seem so silly NOW, does it! You can walk your senior dog until she gets tired, if you want her to get some exercise. And then because you also have your dog carriage with you, just place her in there and she gets to enjoy the fresh air without tuckering out her senior doggie legs.
Reason #2) Your Dog Has Hip Displacia or Some Other Ailment - No matter the age, hip problems or some other injuries or ailments can keep your pet from being able to walk very far. Again, he loves going with you and being in the fresh air and taking in the sites, Now, with a dog stroller, he can! You can feel confident and feel like a good dog owner by including Fido in family activities away from the house without risk of further injuring him.
Reason #3) Your dog isn't the greatest when it comes to long distance leash walking. Maybe he's ok for short distance walking, but he pulls the heck out of your arm, and/or wants to stop and sniff every eight feet. Things such as these can make taking long walks with your dog stressful, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of a walk. Dog strollers can alleviate these hassles and put the joy back into your walks.
...There are many, many more reasons for purchasing a dog stroller that you could put on this list. The fact is, pet strollers are fast becoming extremely popular to dog owners in making their pets mobile. Once your dog associates your doggie stroller with the fun of going for walks, she'll become as giddy over getting the pet stroller out as she gets when you get her walking leash out!
